I recently joined Dr Kumar’s surgery where we were due to have a follow-up CQC visit. The surgeries were previously rated as inadequate and placed under ‘special measures’ in early 2017.

 

Although I knew Vinny Patel from a previous medical centre he supported to improve their CQC rating. Dr Kumar had already contacted him for his services through a referral.

 

He’s had a tremendous help in guiding our strategies to meet the CQC’s governance requirements across the five key lines of inquiries.

 

He addressed all of the concerns raised by the CQC published in their report using an Action Plan format and he also prepared our CQC presentation for the day of inspection using PowerPoint slides and printed copies to hand out.

 

Just to name a few areas of his expertise which we found to be very useful and commended by the CQC were; practice risk logs, compliance & significant Events folder, all our policies were customized, colour laminated flyers in every consulting room and waiting area, leaflets, Statements of Purpose and our BCP. There was so much more he did and delivered that we are very grateful for preparing us for the visit in January 2018, which resulted in the surgeries obtaining a Good rating with positive feedback.

 

His staff meetings are very engaging with the team using PowerPoint presentations that includes CQC questions and answers for all the staff including our clinicians.

 

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend any surgery/GP or healthcare provider to take on Vinny’s services and his immense knowledge and experience about the CQC to ensure they meet all the requirements expected by the CQC. He continues to support me to ensure the surgeries remain compliant.
